On Wednesday afternoon, a 17-year-old woman from Western Styria – despite the overtaking ban – wanted to overtake a truck on the B 76 in Bad Schwanberg (Deutschlandsberg district).
The driver may have overlooked an oncoming vehicle, causing a head-on collision. The 17-year-old was seriously injured and flown by rescue helicopter to the LKH Graz.
The driver of the other car, a 58-year-old, was taken to LKH Weststeiermark with minor injuries. An alcohol test performed on him was negative. Due to the serious injuries, it was not possible to measure the 17-year-old’s breathing air; a blood test was ordered.
