One of the most important new elements in the regulations is the abolition of the deduction for purchasing or renting a home when the taxpayer’s income exceeds 85,000 euros.
The Provincial Council of Bizkaia approved the draft provincial tax reform standard this Thursday, expecting the area’s General Assemblies to approve it new regulations in the first quarter of 2025. The regulatory project is the result of the tax reform agreement reached by the PNV and the PSE-EEwho have a majority to advance it in Bizkaia, but not in Gipuzkoa or Álava.
As the Provincial Council of Bizkaia has recalled, the new rules approved by the Governing Council and which will now be sent to the General Assemblies of the territory for debate among the different groups, affect several tax figures, “aimed at the needs of the people living in Bizkaia and connected to the challenges the country wants to face”.
Under the major new features included The announced tax revision, which has already been approved by the government of the Provincial Council of Álava and which will be given the green light by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa tomorrow, includes the abolition of the deduction for purchasing or leasing housing when the taxpayer’s income is higher than 85,000 euros.
Measures
It is dedicated to “the positive discrimination of women with new personal and family deductions”, such as the deduction for reintegration into the labor market after caring for children under three years of age (leave/employment discount) of 1,200 euros for women and 1,500 euros for men. are also included in corporate tax for companies that implement new measures to better combine private, family and work life than what is legally established.
In matters of shelter“The promotion of rental is favored by strengthening tax incentives” to increase the supply of affordable rental housing, according to the Provincial Council, and in the field of green transition “New deductions are being introduced for work to improve the energy efficiency of homes.” There are also “deductions of 5 or 10% on personal income tax for the purchase of new zero-emission vehicles and 15% for the establishment of charging points.”
In the same way, the new rule increases “the minimum obligation to declare personal income tax to 19,000 euros”, above the Minimum Interprofessional Salary (15,876 euros) and the brackets for, among other things, savings interest are increased from 5 to 6.
