Only slightly injured – Small Christmas miracle after fall from tree

Date:

Looking at the photos of the car, it is difficult to imagine that the occupants suffered only minor injuries. In Alkoven (Upper Austria), a fatal crash involving a tree for two men ended with a small Christmas miracle.

On Boxing Day, the guardian angels worked overtime in alcoves. “Car overturns, two slightly injured” was the operational command sent by the state warning center to the volunteer fire brigade in Alkoven.

Car completely destroyed
On site, a scenario emerged in which the experienced staff in particular agreed that more than just a bit of luck was involved. The driver, a 47-year-old from Linz, was driving on the B 129 towards Alkoven around 9 a.m. At Straß-Emling, the driver of the heavy car – a Mitsubishi Outlander – ended up in the opposite lane, where fortunately there were no oncoming traffic. The SUV then left the road and struck a tree.

The vehicle overturned and came to rest in an adjacent area, completely destroyed. The driver and his passenger (49) were able to leave the car independently and were slightly injured. The cause of the accident was probably microsleep. However, it was no surprise that the steering wheel had a blood alcohol content of 1.62.

Firefighters recovered the SUV. And for the FF Alkoven it was the third day in a row that they had to move at Christmas.
