According to the Carinthian State Fire Service Association, the districts of Villach-Land and Villach-Stadt, Feldkirchen and the eastern part of the district of Spittal around Lake Millstatt and Bad Kleinkirchheim are particularly affected. Major power outages occurred in Feldkirchen and Villach. Heavy gusts of wind even covered several roofs in Draustadt and in the Spittal district. In Millstatt, a tin roof even flew across the street and crashed in front of a fountain.
Hurricane winds over Arriach
A hurricane of 129 kilometers per hour was even measured in Arriach on Tuesday evening. “The greatest caution applies here, so we are warning this storm accordingly with the highest warning level! Over the next hour, the cell nucleus will shift further towards the Nockberge and Gurktal Alps, the thunderstorm line generally towards Lower Alps.
