The leaders of Turkey, Sweden and Finland reached an agreement at a meeting held this Tuesday in Madrid, on the eve of the Atlantic Alliance summit.

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoganthe Prime Minister of Sweden, Magdalena Andersonand the President of Finland, Saulio Niinistosigned a three-way agreement on Tuesday under which Ankara will lift its veto on Helsinki and Stockholm joining the Atlantic Alliance.
The leaders of the three countries held a four-way meeting in Madrid on Tuesday with the participation of NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenbergon the eve of the Atlantic Alliance summit in the Spanish capital.
Turkey had withdrawn Sweden and Finland’s accession to NATO over alleged collusion with organizations such as the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the People’s Protection Units (YPG).
