The workers demand that the state agreement being negotiated for the sector is not applied and that, according to ELA, this would mean a deterioration of the conditions of these workers. This Tuesday is the sixteenth day of the strike.
Workers in the textile and footwear sector of Gipuzkoa will celebrate next Tuesday, January 7 a new strike day, coinciding with the start of the sell-off period, to demand that the state agreement under negotiation is not applied.
During what will be the sixteenth day of the strike, the strikers will gather in front of the Garbera shopping center in Donostia-San Sebastián at 11:30 am, as reported by ELA.
The first day of strikes took place in July 2023, marking the start of state-level negotiations promoted by major companies through the ARTE employers’ association.
The next negotiating table is scheduled for January 19, the date on which ELA will once again demand that this state treaty “expressly states that it will not apply to us here,” as it believes it would worsen working conditions in the sector. and that provincial agreements can be enforced.
