Medical emergency – man dies at Vienna metro station: U6 closed

There was a big shock in the area of ​​the Meidling train station on Tuesday afternoon. There an elderly man suffered cardiac arrest. However, as the Viennese professional rescue service reported to the “Krone”, resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. The U6 line was closed for a long time due to the operation – the train station was inaccessible.

A rescue operation in the area of ​​metro line 6 around 4 p.m. caused great excitement among many passers-by. A passenger reportedly suffered cardiac arrest on a train platform, and paramedics quickly rushed to help.

But in vain: as the Vienna Professional Rescue Service reported to the “Krone”, the elderly man died on the spot – despite the resuscitation measures that were immediately initiated.

Meanwhile, the operation also caused chaos on the Wiener Linien. The U6 could not reach Meidling station for a long time. It wasn’t until shortly after 7 p.m. that irregular driving intervals started again.
