Investigation into the case of a Viennese who was found unconscious almost two weeks ago and trapped in a fence in the Neubau district. The victim, a 47-year-old, was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries days later. According to witnesses, the man was attacked and injured by an unknown person before he was found.
The 47-year-old was found by an acquaintance on June 16 at around 6.40 pm in the fence on Lerchenfelderstrasse. He was unconscious and trapped, the fire brigade had to free the man with technical equipment. After first aid, the victim was taken to hospital. However, his injuries were too serious and the man died a few days later in hospital.
Victim attacked and injured
Police have launched an investigation to determine the source of the victim’s injuries. Witnesses have been found who witnessed an argument between the 47-year-old and an unknown man on the morning of the same day. The latter then attacked and wounded his opponent. Although passers-by had alerted the rescue, the victim was said to have entered the park. The 47-year-old man was found unconscious in the evening.
An executive investigation is underway and an autopsy has been ordered.
