On Thursday morning there was an accident at Wels zoo: For reasons not yet elucidated, a branch of a tree broke off near the playground and fell on a pram in which two children were sitting. It is not yet known whether the children were injured.
At the request of “Krone”, the Red Cross announced that they were not working at the zoo. However, the parents could have sought help themselves.
“Stable and unbreakable”
The tree was classified as “stable and unbreakable” during regular tree inspections in April. The cause of the accident is now being clarified.
