A patient escaped under anesthesia from a hospital in Coburg on Friday afternoon after an operation. Immediately after waking up, the German went home under his own power. However, he did not get very far: on the way home he immediately had an accident with his bicycle. The 33-year-old had to be returned to the hospital immediately.
The German was under anesthesia during his medical procedure. When he regained consciousness, he left the hospital under his own power, got on his bicycle, which was parked in front of the clinic, and rode off. According to later police information, the 33-year-old wanted to go home as soon as possible.
But the patient who fled didn’t get very far. Apparently he wasn’t quite fit after all, because after just a few meters he collided with a vehicle on the side of the road by hitting the parked car without braking. The man was immediately returned to the Coburg clinic.
He is now recovering from his injuries from the accident at the same hospital and is continuing to have the remaining sedation aborted.
