Quick-Run Star and Planet discovered for the first time

Date:

NASA scientists recently discovered a so-called Quick Runner (also known as Runaway Star), which racet almost two million kilometers per second through the galaxy. In tow rope, the poor star on the masses has a super-neptune that is slightly larger than our Neptune.

“We believe that it is a so-called Super-Neptune World that circles a star with a low mass at a distance that would be between the jobs of Venus and the earth if it was in our solar system,” becomes Sean Terry who works at university van Maryland and in the Goddard Space Flight Center of NASA in Greenbelt (Maryland).

If the measurements are confirmed, the couple would set a new record for the fastest moving exoplanet system, which is almost twice as high as the speed of our solar system on the Melkweg, reports the American space agency NASA on its website. It is assumed that the planetary system moves at least 540 kilometers per second.

Because the central gesture shines fairly weak, the exoplanet is far beyond the so -called habitable (habitable) zone. “If this is the case, it would be the first planet to ever create a hyper -fast star,” says Terry. According to the researchers, the star of the duo only has a fifth of the mass of our sun, super-neptune is about 28 times the masses of the earth.

The researchers could calculate the speed by comparing the positions of the star in the air in 2011 and 2021. NASA astronomers hope that further observations of the crazy exoplanet system will provide more information about its properties and their process.
