In the early morning hours, the Braunau and Ranshofen fire brigades had to respond to a fire in a high-rise building in the Neustadt district of Braunau (Upper Austria). 70 people have been rescued by the fire.
At 3.43 am the alarm was received by the fire brigade of Braunau and Ranshofen. A full-scale fire was found on site in an apartment on the 7th floor. Various respiratory protection teams have started extinguishing and evacuation measures. About 70 people were rescued by the fire brigade and the police and handed over to the Red Cross for further care.
The firefighting had an immediate effect. A mobile smoke blocker was attached to the door of the fire apartment and two powerful fans were activated in the stairwell to keep the evacuation route smoke-free.
Cross-border use
The fire brigades Braunau, Haselbach, Ranshofen, Simbach am Inn (D) and the company fire brigade AMAG Ranshofen were deployed with 18 vehicles and a total of 95 members.
