Avalance alarm on Sunday afternoon in East Tyrol: in Kals on the Großglockner, a snowboard detached in the ski area, which eventually went to the slopes below. A search was started because it could not be excluded that someone was buried. The All -Lear can then be given in the evening.
Around 4.30 pm the avalanche was registered in the ski area in Kals on the Großglockner. Because it was initially unclear whether people have caused damage, a search and exploratory was initiated. The employees of the Mountain Rescue and Mountain Railway were involved.
Snow Board was 70 meters wide
The avalanche had loosened about 100 meters above a ski slope in the steep terrain at an altitude of approximately 2270 meters. It was clearly a self -timing solution. The approximately 70 meter wide snowboard eventually went to the slopes underneath.
This itself was spilled up to 30 centimeters high over a length of approximately 30 meters. “A bit above the ski slope, the avalanche cone was up to one meter high,” the police reported.
Final all -Alene in the evening
Even spilled people could not be excluded on the open site. After an intensive search, however, a sigh of relief sighed. The All -Clear could be given around 6.30 pm and the operation was completed.
Heiker avalanche also use in the Ötztal
There was also an avalanche alarm in the Ötztal on Sunday. A 58-year-old tourist was performed, buried and injured in the Open Ski Room in Sölden/Vent. The man can be freed from the snow of companions and eventually brought to the Martin Busch Hut.
The local population will be admitted to the hospital on Monday after this was not possible on Sunday due to the weather conditions and avalanche.
