After a 46-year-old lit his wife in a tram in Gera in the German state of Thuringia, the suspect was caught on Monday morning. The Georgian placed himself from the police.
A special deployment command stormed the apartment of the alleged Assassin on Monday morning – but it could not be found there. “The person I was looking for was in the Gera State Police inspection shortly before 9 a.m. and was arrested by police officers without resistance,” said police spokeswoman Katja Ridder, as “Bild” reported.
The arson was committed in the morning
The 46-year-old is being investigated for attempted manslaughter. On Sunday around 10 a.m. he would have deposited his wife and his wife in a tram on line 10 with a flammable liquid – presumably gasoline.
The perpetrator initially fled after an emergency stop was activated. The tram driver removed the flames with a fire extinguisher and probably saved the life of the 46-year-old victim. The woman was injured in life and flown to a hospital with a rescue helicopter.
