The trade union has asked that “last week’s situation” is not repeated and that the negotiations will continue.
The Steilas Union has, in response to the statements of the Minister of Education, who have not received any communication during the Monday meeting. The Union representative, Haizeea Arbor Aza, has confirmed that they have received “or phone calls or messages or whatever.” The trade union insists that they are also willing to negotiate for the weekend to improve working conditions and to agree on measures that directly affect the quality of education.
Steilas remembered that a technical meeting was already planned for this Monday, but it has made it clear that this has nothing to do with the negotiation process. “We want to express our willingness again to maintain that meeting, our will for negotiations and to reach an agreement,” they said. The trade union wants to prioritize the improvement of working conditions, so that it has an impact on the quality of the education system, for which it is essential to tackle the negotiating table.
