There is indignation in Nieuw -Zeeland after an eleven -year -old, mentally disabled girl has been instructed and drugs has been placed because of confusion in psychiatry.
The girl was confused with a missing woman in Hamilton. It was taken to a psychiatric intensive care, treated with antipsychotics and held in the clinic for more than twelve hours.
The police wrongly held the girl, who has limited language skills, for a 20-year-old patient who had disappeared from a hospital.
Forced medication for adults administered
According to “The Guardian”, a report from the New Zealand Ministry of Health, police officers identified the girl, who was currently crossing a bridge, accidentally than the missing woman. Although a nurse in the hospital noted that the person involved “seemed more like a child”, she was nevertheless instructed in a psychiatric intensive care.
