How do the Austrians tick? P8 Marketing GmbH regularly strives for this question with chairs in Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna. In all nine federal states, 500 people were again interviewed from 19 to 25 March.
At the start of the results, director Georg Hofherr in the beginning: “With a happy value of 3.4 out of 5, the personal pit certificate of the Austrians remains at a high level. This value is very high in the annual comparison since 2020. The biggest three happy charms are: a stable financial situation, health and a family environment.”
Many miss the meaning in life
But even if the population is quite happy, many seems to miss the meaning. The corresponding question (see image) does not answer half (49 percent) that your life is filled with meaning. Another 35 percent answer with partial/partial. In the meantime, my nine percent that your life has not been filled with meaning and four percent answers with a no. “I don’t need anything in my life,” say three percent.
Hofherr explains: “More than half (56 percent) of young people (18 to 29) are still looking for orientation because they are at the start of their lives. They still see important private and professional decisions for them. Women tend to treat more intensively with the meaning of life.”
Money is mainly invested in travel
It was also asked what the Lord and Mrs. Austria would like to spend this year. With 55 percent, traveling clearly comes first. Given the economically uncertain times, 38 percent want to invest in investments. And 35 percent brought her remaining money to your own house. Luxury goods are in the last place. For them, only wants or can take on ten percent.
To stay short with dear money or the economy. When asked how the economic development of Austria is assessed, the more than 80-year-olds are 100 percent interested in expecting positive economic development. The image in the age group 40 to 49. Here 40 percent expect a negative development and only 18 percent believe in a positive one.
Will children and grandchildren get better in a day?
The question of how our children and grandchildren will be linked to economic development in one day. 44 percent believe that the generations after us will be much worse. 26 percent believe they will be the same. “They will be much worse,” but 16 percent suspected. Only eleven percent believe that children and grandchildren will be a little better and only four percent that they will be considerably better than we do.
Health is the greatest wish of Easter rabbits
Given the approaching Easter festival, P8 also asked wishes on the Easter rabbits. “Health and the putfen of my family,” says 60 percent. 45 percent want time with your loved ones. “Peace efforts in world politics” would like to find 33 percent in the nest. Smartphones, gaming accessories or smart household appliances are not very popular with the respondents. Only six percent want that.
Hofherr’s conclusion: “Although the First-Personal Society is always jammer, the Austrians are very family and community-oriented.”
Only a few are (very) satisfied with “sugar”
Interesting for the still young coalition of ÖVP, Spö and Neos in the federal government. “How satisfied are you with the current federal government,” P8 also wanted to know. Only four percent are very satisfied and 14 percent satisfied with the previous achievements of Christian Stocker, Andreas Babler and Beate Meinl-Reisinger. The majority (43 percent) is neutral in this question. With the “Zuckerl” coalition, 20 percent is dissatisfied with the “Zuckerl” coalition.
“The eternal back and forth in the formation of the government has left negative traces. A change in the vote can only be achieved through comprehensible solutions, noticeable measures and clear communication,” says P8 Managing Director Georg Hofherr.
