The Vatican has published a moving photo of the secret meeting with Pope Francis in Rome! King Charles and Queen Camilla were “deeply touched” by the meeting with the Pontifex, which was recently released from the hospital after a life -threatening illness. It is the first photo that the pope shows without oxygen hose.
The Royal Highness was delighted in the official photo of the meeting.
“A special moment for their majestys when they met his Holiness Spaus Francis in the Vatican in the Vatican yesterday,” says the caption on the Royals Instagram account. “The king and the queen were deeply touched by the friendly words of the pope to their 20th wedding anniversary and honored to personally deliver their best recovery requirements.”
A meeting with great importance
The details of the meeting were initially kept secret and only later confirmed by the Vatican. The photo now published clearly shows the warm connection between the royal couple and the Pontifex and how important this meeting must have been for them.
Pope Francis gave Charles two splinters of the “True Cross” in May 2023, which was included in the crucifix used in the ceremony.
Charles and Camilla originally planned an official state visit to the Vatican as part of their four -day stay, but postponed their plans because the doctors had prescribed Francis for two months of rest after the Pope had a serious double pneumonia and had to spend 38 days in the hospital.
“In the course of the conversation, the Pope had the opportunity to send her Majesties to his best wishes for the wedding day and he answered the wishes of his Majesty for a quick recovery of his health,” the Vatican press office reported on Wednesday evening.
King Charles and his wife Camilla had said yes on April 9, 2005. It is the second marriage for both. Charles used to be married to Princess Diana, who died a year after the divorce in a traffic accident in Paris at the age of 36.
King under observation
King Charles is also not spared from health problems. Since his diagnosis of cancer last year – the exact species of which have not yet been made public – he has regularly undergone treatments. At the end of March, the prince had to be temporarily instructed in a clinic due to side effects of his therapy.
