Seven people were seriously injured within three years in one and the same pasture in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley. A German (66) has been fighting for compensation for years. The mother of an wounded five -year -old was always there during the negotiations. She does not save with criticism of the expert.
While the first preparations for the upcoming Alpine season are being made, Petra M. eagerly awaits the judge’s decision. The German (66) fight for compensation after it was brutally attacked by a cow in June 2022 during a walk in the Stubai Valley.
No more incident after slaughter
Someone who has followed the civil process before the court in Innsbruck is Ramona E. (39). Good reason: daughter Leana (5) and an acquaintance were trampled and seriously injured by cows almost a year later. It turned out that the small victim of the seventh cows was in just three years.
The “perpetrators” would always have been Charolais cows. “This only had one farmer in Mieders,” says the Alpine Pastor. “One day after the incident with my daughter, he abandoned the animals and, according to his own information, he immediately slaughtered a few in court. Nothing has happened since then.”
“Nothing is done on the side of the community”
In the civil proceedings of Petra M., the mother of Vier had to shake her head a few times. “We have pictures that these cows are located in the entire pasture area. But time and again it was said that they avoid the places where the walkers were injured,” the Tyroteanan that grew up on the Alpine meadow is shocked. Ramona E. Sauer also does the fact that nothing is done by the community. “Although concerned citizens draw attention to the risk of these cows in letters. Maybe someone should first die.”
Criticism of the expert
The Tyrolean has a special opinion about the expert in the process. “He has contradicted several times.” So he initially meant that people had to think about whether walkers should still be closed by the Alpine area. “In the end he claimed that there were no problems with the sucking cows and that the path was not very visited – although there is an unbridled ram several times a day and is not far from the pilgrimage Maria Valrast.”
The 39-year-old is also surprised that the expert apparently does not think much about the behavioral tips of the Chamber of Agriculture when they encounter mother cows. “He said that you should not necessarily behave calmly, but according to the animal. And how walking in the future also looks with prams, if you would never have to turn your back and go back alone and go back from the mountain,” says the Alpine Farmer.
