Residents Homeless – Human Tragedy: Fire Rued Orders

Date:

In the devastating big fire in the Tyrolean Schönwies (Landeck District), not only three buildings were completely destroyed in the night of Saturday. The four residents have lost almost their entire possessions. The municipality has now set up a donation account for the victims.

“We were sitting with a neighbor when I saw huge flames burn over the railways around 11 p.m.,” says Markus Sonnweber, whose son immediately raised an alarm in the Tyrol Control Center. A 300 -year -old, empty farm with a stadium and stable, as well as an adjacent farmhouse in the Ried District Burned Lichtloh.

Nocturnal flame inferno
When the Schönwies Fire Brigade arrived, the city was already in full fire, as the mayor of Schönwies Reinhard Raggl described in the “Krone” interview. It was not long before the flames attack the adjacent, multi -storey residential building.

Brothers save 80-year-olds from the house
“In the case of a fire, an 80-year-old resident slept,” said the mayor, who was used as a firefighter. At first she had heard nothing of the Inferno. The 80-year-old woke the woman to the fire city of the woman and brought her unharmed to safety.

Another brother (70) of the woman, who also lived in the house with his wife, did not stay in his apartment on Friday. He learned the horror message in holiday paradise. A 60-year-old family member of the two who live in the house was currently in Imst.

Build from the 18th century
In the meantime, 200 firefighters of eleven fire brigades with 20 vehicles were on site. “We have mainly tried to prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent buildings in the rather densely built area,” says BM Raggl. Fortunately, the emergency services are successful. The Flame Inferno was only well under control in the early morning. The two farm buildings and the old part of the house from 1789 have completely burned down.

Alwin Raggl, owner of the destroyed, empty farm, got an accurate picture of the size of the disaster on Saturday morning. In his opinion, the damage is between 300,000 and 400,000 euros alone for him. He lives with his wife in the nearby Starkenbach. When the two heard the siren, they did not want to see where he was burning. When they saw the flames burning where their farm stood, they immediately broke out.

Animals stored on the last second
Her son Christian, who lives next to the fire brigade, had been in the stable three suction cows and a Calibge that was only two weeks old. Together with a neighbor, he managed to save the animals in a very last second. However, the courageous use for the animals had consequences for the rescuers: both members light burns. But they could leave the hospital again.

Researchers are looking for the cause of the fire
Researchers searched for the previously unknown cause of the fire on Saturday and the amount of material damage has so far been unknown.

Donation -Account for stuffed victims
The fire had devastating consequences for the inhabitants of the destroyed building. “You have lost all your existence,” BM Raggl cannot believe. An emergency apartment is available in the municipality, a donation account at the IBAN AT34 3699 0000006 820005 (“Brand Schönwies”) has been set up.
