Britain’s new Chancellor of the Exchequer, Nadhim Zahawi, announced his candidacy for Boris Johnson replaced as Conservative leader and Prime Ministershortly after Transport Secretary Grant Shapps did.

In the coming days, other “heavyweights” of the formation are expected to communicate their ambitions, including former health minister Sajid Javid; current Secretary of State, Liz Truss, and former Secretary of State Jeremy Hunt.
Another favorite, Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace, barred this Saturday from participating in these primaries, signaling on his Twitter account his focus on maintaining the country’s security.
