Spectacular rescue mission on Sunday evening in the beautiful Martinswand near Zirl in the Tyrolean district of Innsbruck-Land: a climbing couple from Slovenia had lost their orientation during relegation and then alarm. The two were eventually found by the police helicopter by rope and flown unharmed to the valley.
The selected Tour had it all: around 11.30 am the Slovenians (33 and 36 years) had joined the multi -cable length climbing route “Botanik Grand Prix”. “About six hours later they reached the end of the first part of this route and then lost their orientation during the relegation, so they made an emergency call at 6.25 pm,” the police reported.
Around 7.30 pm the couple could finally be located by emergency services of the Innsbruck Mountain Rescue and the Alpine Police in Rough and extremely crashed site.
Terrestrial recovery too complex “
“The police helicopter was requested because of the considerable amount of time for terrestrial recovery and the falling darkness,” the researchers describe further. The couple was eventually restored by rope and brought unharmed into the valley.
