Scenes you absolutely do not want to experience on holiday: On the beach promenade in one of the most popular holiday areas for Austrians, a massive fight broke out on Sunday evening – one person was seriously injured.
For reasons still unclear, a major fight broke out on the beach promenade, involving about 70 people attacking each other with objects, including bottles and broken glass.
Video evaluation aims to locate those involved
A 20-year-old was taken to Udine hospital with head injuries, where he is now in serious condition. “This is the first time that our municipality has been involved in an incident of this magnitude,” said Massimo Brini, councilor for tourism of the vacation spots.
The owner of the popular Kursaal nightclub was also shocked by the events: “The moment I was alerted, I was amazed by so much violence. I hope that similar incidents will never happen again,” he told friulioggi.it.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fight. The carabinieri try to locate those involved using video surveillance cameras.
