Replacement traffic for BIMS – that’s what the commuters say to the Graz Mega -Building place

Date:

Graz’s most important artery is currently out of use. The Mega -Building Place will take place until 7 September. So the first Monday ran with replacement traffic.

Monday, 8 a.m., commuters come to the Europaplatz of Graz’s main station, stop Kort, look around. For the entrances to the tram underpass there are meter-high fences, construction sound reflects passers-by.

Since Saturday, tram lines 1, 4, 6 and 7 have not gone between the train station and the Jakominiplatz-the main artery of public transport in the capital has been out of service. The reason is the connection of the neutor line to Annenstrasse. From November, the new inner city lighting should make the BIM system in Graz much less susceptible to interference, because not all sets have to ride on the Nadelöhr Herrengasse.

How are the commuters and grazers? Opinions are different with the local inspection “Kroon”. “I usually drive through the LKH with the 7 series, now I have to change at Jakominiplatz,” says a young woman. “Today it took me half an hour longer. It is well organized, but of course it takes longer because traffic is just very strong in the morning.”

16 Answered questions
What some passengers strongly emphasize: Introdgters from the holding are with bright yellow warning jackets both on the Jakominiplatz and at the train station to answer questions. 16 According to Holding, it is generally, they come home at 4.30 am and go home at midnight, so they cover the bus and Bim all the time.

They remain until June 5, but the construction site itself has more than three months to September 7. “It works well. People know 80 percent,” says an introduction to the train station. “We do the rest. If someone has questions, we will be happy to help.”

Public user -blocking cycle path
If you want to go from the train station to the city center, go into the buses on Egenberger Straße – for the MCFIT. People come on Monday morning, with most small crowds people forms. However, they often block the cycle path next to the narrow pedestrian strip. A problem? “There is a lot going on, but you have to take care of each other and you cannot always insist on your rights,” a cyclist is an understanding of the “Kroon”. Or as another public public user says: “Now I’m going to take the bus. It is just nesting.”
