228 people experienced a real nightmare on the flight from Mallorca to Munich on the night from Monday to Tuesday – and that due to a delay in their machine, which was only ten seconds …
One of the 221 passengers (seven crew members also flew along, the memorandum was “Bild” photographer Daniel Scharener (36), who was on Saturday at the Heino performance in the Bierkönig in Mallorca and wanted to fly back to Munich on Monday. “The flight must start at 8.40 pm at 8.35 pm and the country in Munich at 10.40 am, but there was a delay,” he said. The Condor machine only started at 10:52 am.
The passengers were informed that there was an exemption to land at Munich airport until 00.30. A night flight ban applies there from midnight. But the plan did not work, although the runway was already in sight. The captain announced that the time limit of the special permit was exceeded after ten seconds and that the plane was therefore diverted.
From Hahn to Frankfurt by bus
The passengers therefore still had to fly 380 kilometers to the cheap Airporthahn in the Hunsrück (Rijnland-Palatinate). From there we went 111 kilometers to Frankfurt airport. “We were there at 4.30 am and then waited on the next plane to Munich, which went at 6:50 am at around 8 a.m. and arrived. Due to ten seconds the entire flight cost me twelve hours. Bureaucracy was put on common sense,” criticized photographer.
A colleague traveler complained that there was no information or drinking water in Hahn.
Ministry of Transport: Permits only before departure
The Bavarian Ministry of Transport has announced on the “Bild” request that exceptional permits for landings would always be granted before the flight at night. The pilot of the affected aircraft probably noted that he did not make it on time at 0.30 am and asked for a new exception. This was rejected because the aircraft was already in the air.
When asked by the newspaper, Condor said that the Mallorca machine could not start on time due to the delay of an earlier flight. That is why the delay arose that the landing was no longer possible at 0.30 am. The company apologized to the affected passengers.
