Not ten approaches a day: the ÖBB stops in Gerling and Eschenau in Pinzgau have therefore had their day. For this goal, the new ring railway is forced by the Koralm route and the clock between Saalfelden and the city of Salzburg is condensed.
Saalfelden (Gerling) and Taxenbach (Eschenau) lose a train station with the change in the timetable in December. “We have been observing for a long time that the question with the stops of Gerling and Eschenau is very low. This has not been improved in the course of the generally increased number of passenger numbers in recent years,” explains Robert Mosser (Öbb). The railway company registers fewer than ten clauses per day at the stops. The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) explain it by hiring the Koralbahn in December and the associated new ring traffic.
There will therefore be an hour connection – instead of every two hours – from Saalfelden to the city of Salzburg. The closure of the hold was necessary because of the multi -traffic and the accompanying tight timetable.
