After it was announced on Wednesday that five Afghan civilians had been arrested in Vorarlberg on suspicion of sexual abuse, all five suspects have now been arrested.
A fifth suspect has also been arrested in the case of the mass rape, of which the public was only informed on Wednesday. Initially, only four of the arrested Afghan men were detained. As reported, the police are investigating the sexual abuse of a defenseless or mentally handicapped woman.

The spokesman for the prosecutor’s office in Feldkirch, Heinz Rusch, does not want to say when the crime took place. According to ORF, the mass rape allegedly took place in February in the homeless area of Bludenz. In addition, the victim may have been drunk at the time of the crime and drugs may also have been involved.
Meanwhile, criticism has been leveled that authorities have failed to inform the public about the case. Vorarlberg’s FPÖ leader Christof Bitschi wants to make a request to the state parliament “to bring these events to light”.
