Eleven-year-old Levi Stock must have had dozens of guardian angels on board when he was struck by lightning in late June while on a boat trip with his parents in Florida. “Suddenly it was like an explosion in my face,” recalls his mother Kristen Stock. Levi was thrown into the water. His father rescued him from the water. The battle for the boy’s life then began.
The 11-year-old was in intensive care for several days. But every day Levi got better. He was released from the hospital on July 4. Doctors are pretty sure Levi will make a full recovery from the lightning strike. You can still see wounds. Burns can be seen on his back and his left foot, where the lightning bolt left his body. Only these remind Levi of the extremely dangerous incident.
When he asked the doctors at the hospital why he was there, he was just surprised, the brave little guy says: “You can’t, because the chance of being struck by lightning is one in a million.” Levi’s mom is insanely proud of their hero: “He’s a fighter.” His siblings now call him “Thor” – a reference to the Norse god of weather and popular culture superhero, who can create lightning and thunder with his mighty hammer.
