Deadly combination – Vaccs -SCEPSIS is increasing while the help is purchasing

Date:

The World Health Organization that is very concerned about vaccination campaigns in view of the increasing skepticism of vaccs and the collapse development assistance: the health of the world population is in great danger.

In the past year alone, almost 300,000 people in Europe have a whooping cough and more than 125,000 in measles-this is a triple or doubling of the values of the previous year. “Living vaccinations, and when coverage decreases, diseases spread,” warns Hans Kluge, regional director of Europe. He called on the countries to strengthen their local health systems, to guarantee the availability of vaccines everywhere and to combat wrong information.

“We are very concerned about incorrect and disinformation for vaccinations,” said Kate O’Brien, director of the WHO vaccination department. Moreover, the shrinking aid funds are “extremely problematic”, O’Brien described when presenting the annual report on the vaccination rates worldwide by the WHO and the UN Children’s Aid Unicef. The biggest obstacle for extensive vaccination protection in children is conflicts and the difficulty in reaching children in very remote regions. Last year, 14.3 million children had not received any vaccination in the first year of life, says the report. The year before there was 14.4 million.

Already in the past year funds lacked to support poor countries with vaccination campaigns. The partially drastic development treatments of development this year – through the United States and many other countries – probably have devastating effects, fear who and Unicef.

Vaccination -Scepsis endangers children
Experts do not want to comment on the attitude of the American Minister of Health Robert Kennedy, who was considered a vaccination sceptician. However, they refer to the important role of politicians and religious or other leading characters to strengthen the trust in the vaccines that have been monitored and tested for decades. “In a good 50 years, 150 million lives were saved by vaccines,” said Ephrem Lemango of Unicef. He called on all the ministers to make it clear that “murderous diseases” and measles can be prevented by vaccinations.

The WHO Regional Office Europe and UNICEF warn that negligence in vaccination endangered the health of children and preferred further spread of measles and whooping cough. The vaccination rates against such diseases fell somewhat in the region with 53 countries to Central Asia in 2024 and remained below the level of the pre-corona period. There are clear differences between the individual countries.

Significantly more outbreaks of measles
Coverage with a second measles vaccination dose worldwide increased very easily worldwide to 76 percent. However, 30 million children worldwide are not sufficiently protected against the dangerous disease. According to the WHO, the vaccination percentage in every region and every country should be at least 95 percent to prevent eruptions. In 2024, 60 countries experienced strong outbreaks. That is more than twice as much as 2022. In some countries, outbreaks for widespread skepticism owe, O’Bien said. How many killing this causes is difficult to appreciate. In 2023 there were more than 107,000 deaths worldwide due to measles.

Success story HPV vaccination
According to the WHO, the vaccination rates have risen slightly according to report 2024. About 85 percent of the infants are said to have received three doses of vaccination against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough (DTP – P for Pertussis, whining cough). That was a total of 109,000 babies. The year before it was marginal less. The DTP vaccination is an important indicator for global vaccination.

The HPV vaccination that prevents cervical cancer is a success story worldwide, said O’Brien. The proportion of young girls who received vaccination had risen by four percentage points worldwide to 31 percent. The most important thing is that Nigeria and Bangladesh have taken protection against HPV in their routine vaccinations. In 2019, only 17 percent of teenagers received vaccination. The goal is to reach 90 percent by 2030.
