To cope with the enormous inflation in the country, the federal government is making a total of six billion euros available in aid and bonuses to relieve people in the crisis. It will take until the autumn before the direct financial aid actually arrives. However, the first important deadline for this is today, Friday.
Specifically, the benefits of the increased child benefit, the anti-cost premium and the climate bonus are affected. In order to receive this on time, the data in FinanzOnline must be checked. In particular, the correct account number should be checked or entered in the first place.
5.5 million Austrians affected
The Ministry of Finance has already actively pushed for this by email – no less than 5.5 million Austrians were approached in this way to check the data they had entered there. The last opportunity for this is today, July 15.
For all those who are already using FinanzOnline for tax settlement etc., the need for action should be small. But because many citizens there have not provided their bank details, it is difficult to transfer the support.
Data not updated?
But don’t worry: Even if you don’t meet the deadline, you won’t fall for the money. If no corresponding data is available, the persons concerned will receive a registered letter with a voucher of 500 euros that can be exchanged in banks and shops.
However, this special variant also costs a lot of money: the Tax and Customs Administration is counting on around 20 million euros for mailing this year.
