A 13-year-old was found dead in a wooded area in Vienna-Döbling on Tuesday morning. The girl should have left her parents’ apartment on Friday evening. A few hours later, the parents filed an absence notice.
A pedestrian discovered the body and alerted the police. Forensics and the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office and a forensic medicine expert were on duty on site at Sieveringer Straße. “Initially, no abnormalities were found that could indicate negligence by third parties,” the police said.
The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department is now conducting an investigation in close collaboration with the Vienna Public Prosecution Service. As the circumstances and cause of death have not been clearly clarified, a judicial autopsy was ordered.
