Orange and MásMóvil announced an agreement on Saturday to combine their activities in Spain and form a union worth 18.6 billion euros, both entities said in a statement.
While the agreement has yet to be ratified by the Securities Market Commission, both companies have reported that the merger will be 50% effective, with both parties having the same administrative capacity.
In particular, the resulting entity would be 50% controlled by Orange and Lorca JVCo, the UK parent company of MásMóvil, with equal administrative rights. The combined entity’s valuation is €18.6 billion, €7.8 billion for Orange Spain and €10.9 billion for MásMóvil.
The operation would affect the Euskaltel group, as it is dependent on the multinational MásMovil.
