Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky argues that the atrocities committed by Russian soldiers in parts of his country are worse than during the Nazi occupation 80 years ago. Members of the international media reported seeing gunshot wounds and signs of torture with their hands tied to Bucha after Russian soldiers fled the city on the outskirts of Kyiv.
Although Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claims the bodies are “planned”, Zelensky warned in a video message published early Tuesday morning that the “mass killing of civilians” could be worse. In other cities of Ukraine. He said: “There is ample evidence that Russian forces are destroying peaceful cities and kidnapping, torturing and killing civilians.
Currently, there is information about more than 300 people killed and tortured in Bucha alone. The list of casualties is likely to be much larger when the entire city is inspected.
“And this is just a city. There is already information that the death toll from the occupiers may be higher in Borodinka and some other liberated cities.
“In many villages in the liberated areas of Kyiv, Chernigov and Sumy, the occupiers did things that the local population had not seen even 80 years ago during the Nazi occupation.”

Zelensky told Romania that Russia is ready to sacrifice the lives of millions of people
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the Romanian parliament in a video address that he believed Vladimir Putin’s Russia was “ready to sacrifice millions of lives” for the realization of its “crazy ideas”. Zelensky also noted the horrors of the Roman Ceausescu regime and showed a “brutal” video from the city of Bucha, talking about the “torture, execution or killing” of 300 civilians in a suburb of Kyiv.
He added: “The name of our city Bucha is forever present in the history of the world – in the history of war crimes and in the history of the destruction of people. Zelensky continued, citing memories of the Ceausescu regime: “The Roman people rebelled and defended themselves, saved themselves, and overthrew insufficient power, because this was the only way.
Ceausescu, his wife, his entourage and his “security” cannot be persuaded of anything. Just as it is impossible to persuade those who are now at war in Russia to issue criminal orders and plan the genocide of the Ukrainian people and the destruction of the Ukrainian state.
“These people are not enough. They have lost all connection with reality and are willing to sacrifice millions of lives to realize their crazy ideas.”

‘It’s like a horror story,’ admit Bucha residents.
“It’s like a horror story,” said Nadia Melnychuk, who owns a cottage in Bucha with her husband Roman, knowing that neighbors were murdered in their “beautiful little town.” “We didn’t want to see this life, we don’t want war,” the 27-year-old head of public relations told the Palestinian News Agency.
“In February and January we had a simple and happy life there, with different plans and dreams for our future, after which we lost everything we had. We don’t even know if our house is there again.”
As soon as the bombing began, the Bucha couple left for western Ukraine. “It’s like a horror story,” Ms Melnichuk added. “We know that some of our neighbors who live near our hut have been killed.”
