At around 11:25 a.m., a 53-year-old Syrian national was driving a rented minibus occupied by eight other people aged 13 to 44, all Syrian nationals, on the A8 towards Suben. At kilometer 1, the driver drove via ramp 1 to the resting place Voralpenkreuz.

But the driver was driving too fast. Due to the inappropriate driving speed, the minibus left the carriageway in a right-hand bend, collided with a concrete overburden of a roadway drain and came to a stop on the driver’s side.
