The alleged rape allegedly took place in a bar in Pasching (Upper Austria). An Afghan (38) is suspected, but is currently at large. He denies the charge.
On suspicion of rape, an investigation is underway against a waiter (38) at a restaurant in a shopping center in Paschinger. The Afghan is said to have sexually assaulted an 18-year-old at the end of June around 11 p.m. who was there as a guest in a separate room.
The alleged victim reported the man. He had sexual intercourse with her against her will. The suspect has not confessed. However, he is accused of the statements of two friends of the young people and another man.
“The investigation is still ongoing”
“It is true that there is a named suspect. The investigation is still ongoing and not all witnesses have been heard yet. The case should have started amicably. Alcohol was also involved with the victim,” says Ulrike Breiteneder of the public prosecutor’s office of Linz on the state of affairs. The Afghan is at large.
No interrogation after attack at Linz . train station
There is currently a legal standstill following an alleged gang rape at Linz Central Station in late March. At that time, three Afghans (all 15 years old) and an Iranian (14) allegedly attacked a 16-year-old. The alleged victim has still not been questioned by the court because of his condition. “We don’t want to pressure the 16-year-old. You don’t want to do any additional damage to the victim. But of course we will try again to get a questioning,” Breiteneder said.
Weyer rape charges
The Syrian (19) who allegedly raped a Ukrainian refugee girl (15) in Weyer at the beginning of May is also accused. Witnesses said the boy and girl got closer and then disappeared. The next day, the 15-year-old and her brother reported the incident to the police.
