Spectacular accident Saturday night between Seefeld in Tirol and Scharnitz (Innsbruck-Land district): A 17-year-old driver came off the road and collided with the guardrail, which lifted the car and flew 25 meters through the air. After another 80 meters the car came to a stop.
The 17-year-old boy was on B177 Seefelder Straße around 11:30 p.m. when, according to police, he hit a long bend off the road and crashed into the guardrail.
“Car in free flight”
The car was then catapulted into the air. After 25 meters in “free flight”, the car ended up in a meadow, where the 17-year-old brought the car to a stop after about 80 meters of driving, the investigators continued.
The driver sustained injuries in the accident. After first aid, he was taken by ambulance to the Innsbruck clinic.
