Archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) have uncovered numerous ancient treasures in Jerusalem’s Ramat Shlomo district. These include “magic bowls” (also known as curse bowls) that are about 1,500 years old and painted on the inside with spells and incantations in Hebrew script.

According to IAA employee Amir Ganor, these bowls come from ancient sites in Mesopotamia, present-day Iraq. The text has been written by artists according to his personal wishes for a specific customer.

In addition to hundreds of coins, rare artifacts from the biblical period were also discovered, including bone and ivory items from biblical times, intricately decorated in Phoenician style with Egyptian motifs and depicted alongside geometric scenes from the animal kingdom. ornaments.
