China today raised the level of his retaliation for the Nancy Pelosi’s Visit to Taiwan with actions such as the suspension of cooperation mechanisms with Washington, sanctions against the president of the US legislature and the crossing of ships and aircraft from the middle line of the Strait of Formosa.
Two days after the former politician’s controversial trip, Beijing has announced eight measures, including the suspension of cooperation on issues such as justice, climate change, repatriation of illegal immigrants, criminal justice aid, combating crimes committed by transnational corporations and talks on combating climate change.
It has also canceled telephone calls between the leaders of the military commands and the working meetings between the defense portfolios of the two powers, as well as those of the Military Maritime Security Consultation Mechanism.
Due to these cancellations, there is no longer a trust mechanism between the armed forces of the two superpowers at a time when tensions in the Taiwan Strait are at levels not seen since the 1990s.

The Asian country made this decision public just an hour after it was imposed sanctions against Pelosi and her immediate family members for “ignoring China’s concerns and firm opposition” to its trip and for “undermining the Asian country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.
The measures include a ban on Pelosi and her associates from entering China, with no further details at this time.
Similarly, in recent hours, China has also convened European diplomatic representatives, from the European Union, Japan and Canada by the statements of the foreign ministers of the G7 with regard to Taiwan.
Ministers had asked Beijing on Thursday not to use Pelosi’s recent visit as “a pretext to carry out aggressive military actions in the Taiwan Strait”.
Taiwan, for its part, today denounced that even 68 aircraft and 13 ships of the Chinese military have continued to operate in the Taiwan Strait, with some of them crossing the centerline of the Formosa Strait during the second day of military maneuvers launched by Beijing on Thursday.
This imaginary line in the strait has served as an unofficial but tacitly respected border for China and Taiwan for the past few decades.
The chinese exercises they take place in six areas around the island, one of which is about 20 kilometers off the coast of Kaohsiung, the main city in southern Taiwan, and despite the fact that China has conducted other exercises in the Taiwan Strait in recent years, this week are different because “they cover a wider area, include more military elements and are expected to be highly effective,” Chinese defense experts reported, quoted by local media.
