A woman fell from a roller coaster on Saturday afternoon at an amusement park in Klotten in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The 57-year-old was so seriously injured that she died. Attempts at resuscitation by rescuers were to no avail, police said in the evening.
It is still unclear how the fatal accident could have happened. The investigation is still ongoing, there may have been a technical defect. According to the website, the park on the Moselle is closed on Sundays.
The game and recreation park in Klotten, also called Klottipark, is mainly aimed at families. There are several roller coasters in the amusement park. It is not yet clear where the accident happened.
