A serious accident occurred on Lavanter Straße (L 318) in East Tyrol. Seven people were injured in the accident. This also led to a game stoppage in Carinthian football. Among the injured are three kickers.
Shortly before the East Tyrolean village of Lavant, two cars collided head-on on Saturday around 3.25 pm. A 17-year-old was driving his car on Lavanter Landesstraße from Tristach towards Lavant. In a slight right turn on the wet road, he lost control of the vehicle, ended up in the oncoming lane and crashed into an oncoming car driven by a 26-year-old Slovenian.
“Seven people were injured to an unknown extent,” the local police said. The injured were taken to Lienz Hospital by ambulance. Both vehicles were declared a total loss.
Soccer player injured, match canceled
Among them were three football players from Unterhausklub SV Egg from Gailtal. “They were on their way to the 1st Class A Championship game in Tristach when the accident happened.” The officials of SV Tristach were immediately ready to cancel the match.
