Terrible tragedy about a 50-year-old Dutchman in Tyrol! The man probably fell about 100 meters into a steep gully during a trip on Saturday. He could only be found dead.
After a large-scale search, the 50-year-old was discovered Sunday afternoon in a trench in the Gallreiderschrofen area in the municipality of Gschnitz (Innsbruck-Land district). Unfortunately, all help came too late for him.
Also dogs in the search
“According to the current status of the investigation, the Dutchman fell about 80 to 100 meters between the Kalkwand and the Ilmspitze on Saturday,” the police said. The Steinach mountain rescue service was deployed with twelve men, four mountain rescue search dogs, three alpine police officers, the police drone and the BMI helicopter (Libelle).
