In the eastern Ukrainian province of Donetsk, fierce fighting continued in the towns of Bakhmut and Avdiivka. Russian attacks in the east and south of the neighboring towns of Soledar and Bakhmut were repulsed, Ukraine’s General Staff announced on Monday. Similarly, the Russian advance east of Siwersk and southwest of the city of Avdiivka failed.
In the southern city of Kherson, which was occupied by Russian forces, the Ukrainian army launched renewed rocket attacks on the strategically important and previously damaged Antonivka Bridge over the Dnipro River. This was confirmed by the spokeswoman for the Ukrainian Southern Command, Nataliya Humenyuk.
In addition, the road over the Dnipro Dam at Nowa Kachowka was shelled by rockets. Since the damage to the only three river crossings in the Russian-occupied lower Dnipro River at the end of July, supplies to Russian troops on the right bank have been severely disrupted.
