A powerful fairy tale was told by a woman who told the police that she had been robbed in a drugstore. Then she became embroiled in contradictions.
On May 7 this year around 7:50 pm, a 20-year-old Austrian citizen reported to the Innsbruck police that she had been attacked in Speckbacherstrasse. A hitherto unknown assailant approached her and snatched the money (less than four-digit euros) she had hidden in her sweater and fled.
Woman caught up in contradictions
A search by several patrols for the perpetrator initially yielded no results. When questioned by officials, the 20-year-old Austrian became embroiled in contradictions. After extensive investigation by the police, it was a drug deal busted and the 20-year-old admitted to having invented the robbery. She wanted to buy drugs from an unknown perpetrator for a low four-figure sum, but she was cheated and the unknown perpetrator fled with all the money.
Dealer was investigated
An 18-year-old Syrian citizen was found after extensive police investigation. He stands before the public prosecutor in Innsbruck on suspicion of theft and a crime under the Narcotics Act. The 20-year-old is also being reported on suspicion of drug-related offenses and pretending to be a criminal offence.
