A serious traffic accident occurred on the Purtschellerstraße (B 999) in the area of the Untere Ahornalm in neighboring Bavaria on Wednesday afternoon. Three motorcyclists collided with each other. One died in the process.
A Frenchman (57) traveled with a group of 20 people through the valley on the Roßfeld Panoramastrae. On a right turn, he may have fallen into the oncoming lane and collided with two other motorcyclists – a 40-year-old woman and a man (48) from Rhineland-Palatinate/Germany).
The 57-year-old was so badly injured in the collision that he remained motionless. Motorcyclists who followed immediately began CPR and issued an emergency call. A large contingent of the Red Cross arrived. Despite long and intensive attempts at resuscitation by emergency doctors and ambulance personnel, the Frenchman succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Use until 7.30 pm
The seriously injured woman was flown by helicopter to the hospital in Traunstein, the slightly injured man was taken to the trauma room in Bad Reichenhall. The B999 from the southern toll plaza to Ahornkaser was closed for several hours. The operation was over by 7:30 PM.
