After the blue light operation and the wild chase in the inner city of Vienna on Friday morning, it has now been revealed that the alcohol drivers were diplomats.
Without suspecting anything bad, the four German holidaymakers were driving through the city center when the vehicle hit the town hall at full speed. Moments later, the police arrived. The driver of the hit car stepped on the gas. As reported, there was a chase along the ring road, which ended in front of Parliament.
Collaboration was limited
Officers stopped the car and ordered the three occupants to get out with weapons drawn. However, cooperation was limited. No wonder either: as the “Krone” learned from insider circles, the men are said to be high-ranking diplomats of the Ukrainian embassy.
Drunk driving amok without consequences
While the passenger refused an alcohol test, the alleged driver (according to the injured accident victims, they switched places after the crash) measured more than 2%. If the Ukrainian embassy in Vienna does not lift the diplomatic immunity of the suspects of its own accord, the drunken stupor will go unpunished.
