Due to a previously unknown cause, there was a fire on a forest dike on the shore of the Wolfgangsee in Salzburg on Sunday evening.
The fire was fought with the help of the police helicopter by extinguishing it from the air, with fire boats from the water and by the fire brigade from the ground. The fire was extinguished by 8 p.m.
The police drone was used to monitor and locate the embers. In total there was about 5000 square meters in the fire. No one was injured.
The fire brigade was deployed with about 110 people, 15 vehicles and two boats. The mountain rescue service and the water rescue service St. Gilgen were also present. An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire.
