Meeting with Zelenskyy – UN General Guterres travels to Western Ukraine

Date:

UN Secretary-General António Guterres will travel to Lviv in western Ukraine on Thursday to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He will then visit the Ukrainian Black Sea port of Odessa on Friday, a spokesman said Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, Moscow accused Kiev of destroying power poles at a nuclear power plant in Kursk, southern Russia.

The FSB’s Secret Service blames “saboteurs”. This would disrupt the operation of the power plant, the FSB continued. On August 4, 9, and 12, a total of six masts were attacked. The Kiev Ministry of Defense was not immediately available for comment. Kursk is about 90 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

The information could not be independently verified. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, there have been repeated explosions at fuel and ammunition depots in the region.

“Deliberate Provocation”
According to the government in Moscow, Britain has applied for overflight rights over Russia for a spy plane. This was “a deliberate provocation,” the Russian Defense Ministry said. The Russian Air Force will ensure that the country’s airspace is not violated.
