Inflation and high energy prices are now causing problems for many Austrians. But there is hope in the air: via the 2022 employee tax assessment, you can still get some money back from the Tax Authorities this year. Here are some tips that you should pay attention to when applying for payroll tax equalization.
Employers and other paying agencies must pass on all data to the responsible tax office by the end of February 2023 at the latest. After that, the employees can submit their payroll tax credit and receive a refund from the tax authorities. The Labor Chamber of Vorarlberg recommends preparing and sorting the collected documents now. At the beginning of March, they can then already submit the 2022 tax equalization and receive additional financial income as soon as possible.
