A year after the takeover by Thomas Altendorfer, the Burgerista brand has put the crisis behind it. The local network has already been expanded with a restaurant in Vienna and it is expected that a comeback in Graz will be successful. New: The burger chain from Upper Austria is also very popular in Dubai.
The meat is freshly chopped every day directly in the restaurants and supplied by an Innviertler company called Großfurtner; The pastries for the burgers are made at Guschlbauer Backwaren in Waizenkirchen – “the regional products and the freshness – you can taste that too,” says Thonmas Altendorfer.
It has been a year since the thoroughbred restaurateur and his wife Petra took over the bankrupt hamburger chain. “We are in the black and making money,” says the 57-year-old, who runs nine Burgerista restaurants, four of which are in Upper Austria.
The concept was not changed, but the appearance was adjusted. The bars were equipped with new cash registers. Where necessary, the facilities were also modernized, such as on Landstrasse in Linz. In August, a new restaurant opened in the Stadium Center in Vienna and a return to Graz is also planned.
Many offers for new restaurants
“I could open two or three restaurants every month because I get offered so many locations,” says Altendorfer, but he’s putting the brakes on here.
Conversations directly in the desert
Grieskirchen is more offensive when it comes to interest from the Arab world. A potential franchisee has come forward who wants to bring the Burgerista concept to Dubai. The first conversations are now taking place directly in the desert metropolis.
