Red Bull remains at the top: these are the most valuable brands in Austria

Date:

Nothing has changed at the top of Austria’s most valuable brands in 2024 – legend Red Bull continues to strengthen its lead. Behind the Salzburg energy drink manufacturer are the gaming group Novomatic and the trading company Spar, as shown in the current brand value survey by the European Brand Institute.

The ÖBB and Erste Group brands each improved one place to 4th and 5th compared to 2023, while the Swarovski brand dropped two places to 6th.

Red Bull is also in the top 100 worldwide
Together, the top 10 companies are worth 38.2 billion euros, almost half of which goes to Red Bull (18.9 billion euros). Red Bull is the only Austrian company also represented in the global top 100 rankings.

Novomatic showed the strongest relative growth. The gaming group increased its brand value by almost 9 percent to around 3.7 billion euros. The mobility group Pierer Mobility achieved the second highest growth with an increase of 8.5 percent to more than 1.2 billion euros and thus remained in 10th place among the most valuable brand companies, followed by ÖBB, which increased by 4.1 percent to more than 2.2 billion euros.

OMV with a big negative
The Raiffeisen Banking Group brand also rose slightly by 0.3 percent with a brand value of more than 2 billion euros and occupies 7th place. Energy group Verbund increased its brand value by 2.3 percent to 1.6 billion euros, placing it in 7th place. 8. Mineral oil company OMV lost brand value in the top 10 and, after a loss of 15.1 percent, stood at just under 1.3 billion euros and finished in 9th place.

The research only takes into account companies that are more than 45 percent Austrian-owned. Therefore, Spar’s competitor Rewe (including Billa) or Austrian Airlines are not included in the ranking.
